Unique Blend of Charm & Comfort

Casa Moreno has a unique blend of charm and comfort. It is convenient to shopping, tours, and beaches, yet it is attractive and comfortable enough to make you want to spend some time at the villa.

The views from Casa Moreno are magnificent. The ocean with the new Pez Vela marina is to the west and south and the endless rainforest mountains are to the east and north. The sun rises and illuminates the mountains in the morning and sets at the ocean in the evening.

Casa Moreno was built in 2015 with the goal of making the villa enjoyable, guest friendly, attractive, and comfortable. Everything is new including all the furnishings and utensils, towels and linens, appliances etc. All the furniture was custom made in Sarchi, Costa Rica.

The design of the house is a blend of Mediterranean and Costa Rican architecture and decor. The house is large, with 232 square meters, 2500 square feet of inside living space. Many large half oval windows accommodate the spectacular view. The view from the balcony is the best but the entire living area has a panoramic view.
The villa can accommodate 10 guests with space and privacy for all.

There are four bedrooms and three full baths. The Master has a king bed and a private bath. Bedroom two is on the same level as the master and has an over-sized bunk bed with a queen on the bottom and a double on the top. There is a full bath next to this bedroom. Bedrooms 3 and 4 are on the lower level. Both have doors which access the balcony at the pool level as well as the house interior. There is a large full bath located between these two bedrooms. All beds are new, custom made, with orthopedic mattresses. All have new toppers and protective covers for both beds and pillows. All bedrooms have large closets of cedar wood, custom made furniture, and individual AC systems.

All bedrooms and the main living area are air conditioned with individual thermostats. There are ceiling fans in the upper bedrooms and living area as well as on the balcony. All baths are large, all tile with good showers and fixtures. All are stocked daily with fresh towels and washcloths. The main area is open and consists of the living, dining, and kitchen areas. All the ceilings are high and are teak wood. There are many large Mediterranean style windows. The living room is very homey and comfortable, good for conversation, playing games, or for watching satellite TV. There is a seven seat sectional sofa, a large recliner, one other cushioned chair, and a large coffee table. The entertainment center has a large flat screen 50 inch LED TV which is connected for satellite reception. There are several HBO and Cinemax movie channels as well as NFL and sports. There are many stations in both Spanish and English. There is a stereo with Bluetooth. There is a Netflix and streaming compatible blueray DVD. There is high speed cable internet access.

The large kitchen has an island with six cushioned back stools. There is a large, double door refrigerator with ice maker, a large gas stove with oven, a dishwasher, microwave and all of the small appliances one might need. The cedar cabinets are stocked with enough utensils for ten people.

The dining room has a large table with eight cushioned chairs. You can enjoy the view while you dine. The panoramic views from the kitchen, dining and living areas are of the ocean, mountains, and the town of Quepos. A door opens from the kitchen area onto a full length balcony on the side of the house. The view of the ocean and the marina are spectacular from there. The balcony furniture consists of a large table with eight cushioned chairs. Like all the furnishings, it is new and of good quality. The new six burner gas grill is located here. Oftentimes we do our cooking here, especially fresh fish.

The pool can be accessed from the balcony off the kitchen, from inside the house at the entry, or from either of the two lower bedrooms. The pool is private. There is a spacious lounging and seating area. There are areas of sun and areas of shade. There are two tables with six chairs and eight quality chaise loungers near the pool. The pool has a view of the ocean, town, and mountains yet there is privacy. The depth is five feet throughout, good for swimming but requiring supervision of children who cannot swim. The pool is well lighted for evening swimming.

The walls around the pool were painted as a Costa Rican landscape mural by a local artist. Many of the local floral and fauna are depicted in the mural. It is fun to try to find all the different species in the mural. New, tropical landscaping for the property attracts many species of birds and monkeys and provides privacy.

The concierge will help with your travel arrangements, greet you, check you in, answer your questions, and help with your tours and travel arrangements. There is daily maid service except Sundays included in the price. All fees and costs are included in the rates. A chef will come to the Villa and prepare your meals for a reasonable price. All in country transportation, tours and activities can easily be prearranged for you by the concierge.

The villa has an ample supply of quality towels and linens including towels for the pool and towels for the beach. There are outdoor showers near the entry to the villa and at the pool level to wash off sand and sunblock lotion. There is a laundry room with a washer and dryer on site. If you prefer, the maid will do your personal laundry for an reasonable fee.

Casa Moreno is conveniently located just off the Manuel Antonio road between Quepos and Manuel Antonio. Distances are one mile to the town, two miles to the beach, and three miles to Manuel Antonio park. It is located near the best hotels with many good restaurants nearby. For security, the house is fenced, alarmed and there is a safe. We also own Casa Azul which is within easy walking distance of Casa Moreno. Both houses together can accommodate up to 20 people for events and large family gatherings.

Better than the photos can show

My girlfriend and I took her whole family to this rental. We had such an amazing week with the home. We cooked huge meals in the kitchen and ate out at the 8 person back table. One night we even cooked hamburgers on the back grill. It was a vacation I will remember for ever. The home is even nicer than it looks in the photos. I really recommend this house for your vacation.

Thank you Shawn. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Please come again.

Perfect getaway for family

Loved this house! Perfect spot to get to Manuel Antonio and all the restaurants and activities. View was fantastic, better than in the photos. Could see the ocean to the left with the harbor and boats, the city and soccer field below and the mountains to the right. Bird watching in the morning was awesome and saw tons of scarlet Macaws flying through the valley. Concierge was helpful and available as needed and helped us pack in some thrilling safe adventures. Housekeeper was very sweet and efficient with our big crew.

Thank you Hank. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope you can come again.

Perfect week in Costa Rica!

Loved our first trip to Costa Rica! Can't say enough about how great this house was along with Mefi and the rest of the team! All of the recommendations from places to eat to tours to take were spot on. Mefi sets everything up for you and there's not one thing we would have changed. Our family would recommend the following tours - Guided park tour, Mangrove estuary tour, Jeep tour to the waterfalls and Canopy Safari zip lining. We also enjoyed many hours of just sitting on the balconies at the house watching the wildlife and beautiful sunsets - having a pair of macaws land in the tree by the house was an added plus. We didn't have a car and took taxis everywhere which was not a big deal - $10 wherever we went for the 5 of us and transportation was included with all of the tours. You do need to be in really good shape if you plan to walk back from town or the bus stop. The hill to the house is super steep. But the view from this house is worth it! Thank you to everyone associated with Casa Moreno for providing our family with some great memories!

Thank you so much Angela for your review. Please come again!

Paradise!

Wow. First, this place is actually every bit as amazing as it seems in the listing and reviews. It was beautiful! The pool was crystal clear and the perfect temperature to plunge into after a hot day in the jungle. The beds were comfortable. The view was AMAZING!

But more than that, the staff is wonderful. Mefi stays on top of all of your needs, whether it's getting a cab for an evening out, or scheduling multiple days of activities. He takes care of it all, and he really is available whenever you need anything. He is friendly, courteous, and apparently knows everyone in the town. And not only does he schedule everything for you, he follows up with the tour operators to make sure everything went according to plan. The excursions he recommends are top notch. We did the 10 in 1 zip line, the waterfall tour, kayaking the mangrove, surfing lessons, parasailing, and a tour of the national park. They were all amazing. I think the parasailing is what the family enjoyed the most, but you really have to do some of the jungle excursions. The housekeeper is very nice, and does an amazing job. And the maintenance tech is also on top of everything.

We rented a car through Mefi, and they delivered it to the villa for us. Mefi scheduled a shuttle to take us from and to the airport. I really recommend this as it made getting to and from Manuel Antonio much less stressful!

If you are on the fence about this place, take the plunge. It was 100% worth it, and we will definitely be back!

Thank you so much Carole for your excellent review. We hope you will return someday.

This place is so awesome. Mefi is the best concierge anyone could hope to have. He goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and enjoying your stay.

He knows the best restaurants and best hideaways to visit. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a bit of beach and forest in the same spot. Truly Pura Vida . We will be back .

Thank you Mark. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and will be happy to have you return.

A Beautiful Location

This is a beautiful location!!! The house was perfect for our group. Our concierge Mefi was awesome. He met us at the house, gave us a tour and let us know if we need anything, just message him. I suggest everyone to get the WhatsApp. This was easier to send messages especially on the beaches. The layout of the house made us feel never crowded. The staff kept everything running. You forgot something from your groceries, let Mefi know and we had stuff delivered to our front door. You wanted takeout, let Mefi know and it was ordered. My husband and friend went fishing for two days. One day, Mefi took myself, my sister and niece shopping and a tour of Quepos. The next day, he set us up with a company on a beach so we had chairs and an umbrella and they watched our stuff while we went shopping. We spent time in their national park and saw sloths, raccoons, spider monkeys and howler monkeys. From the deck of our house, we saw tucanns, parrots and scarlet mckaws. There was a great variety of restaurants that were a 10 min drive from the house. My niece forgot her cellphone at the house and Mefi took the time to mail it for us. That's truly great customer service. I highly suggest you checked this place out, you definitely won't regret it!!!!

Casa Moreno - Better Than Advertised!

We simply loved Casa Moreno! The pictures were not only accurate but we felt the house was even better than advertised. Mefi, our staff concierge, was fantastic. Among our highlights, on our final morning, our family viewed two beautiful and colorful Macaws on the lower porch. We felt like our entire experience at the house made our Costa Rican vacation even better!

BEST PLACE TO STAY IN QUEPOS!!!

Words cannot describe the amazing experience that my family had at Casa Moreno! Sitting at a small mountain top, the views were AMAZING, pictures cannot do them justice. I have been to Santorini, Greece, and the view from this house tops even the Greek sunsets! Mefi (our concierge) was wonderful! he made himself available to assist us at all hours, and the one time that a taxi was not available, he came and got my wife and Aunt himself and toured them through the city and gave excellent recommendations! The house was kept immaculate, and has every amenity. My family of 8 was able to fit very comfortably and even cookout in the spacious patio and open kitchen when we cooked our fresh caught fish! Whenever we decide to go back to Costa Rica, this will be our destination!

Easy Living (Even With A Toddler)

We loved our stay at Casa Moreno. There were a few quirks of the property, which I outline below, but first I will outline the best parts:

1) The staff at Casa Moreno were excellent. Mefi, the concierge, handled all of our questions before and during our stay. He also made sure to offer advice that was very helpful. Yahaira, the maid, was a lovely person to have around and Warner maintains an amazing garden. When we asked for a gate to be installed, the staff made sure it was taken care of (and that made it much more relaxing to be in the living space without having to be on top of the toddler at all times).

2) We had four adults and one toddler and had a ton of space. I don't know about your family but it helped us to be able to gather and separate when traveling together. 🙂 Casa Moreno definitely offered both options.

3) Excellent air conditioning... but also well thought out windows that caught the breeze and kept the space nice during the less heat intense parts of the day (morning and evening).

4) Amazing views... really just spectacular... and two balconies to sit and enjoy said view. The bird watching was also really excellent.

5) The pool has amazing views and is totally private. I don't think anyone at any of the surrounding properties had a view into the pool. Plus, the mural is pretty. It was really nice space to spend time in.

Some quirks:

1) The driveway/road to the house is crazy steep. I would not want to walk down that to get anywhere... if only because at least some people driving up and down the hill are tourists who are sweating bullets about making the turns. We opted to rent a car because we wanted to have a car seat installed, but I'd plan on taking taxis if you don't want to rent a car.

2) There is no shallow end in the pool. We were provided with pool noodles so floating was easy, but if you want to stand in a pool and catch a toddler... well, if you're under 5'6" that's probably not happening. The steps are also quite narrow, so if you have any issues like bad knees, it can be a bit tricky to get in and out of the pool.

Quirks aside, we had a really wonderful stay at Casa Moreno and were sad to leave.

The House Was In The Perfect Location With Awesome Views.

This house had everything we needed. I have rented numerous homes around Costa Rica and this was the first home that was walk in and ready to use without having to stop and get household supplies. The beds where comfortable and the entire house was clean and bug free. The only disappointment was that the pool was cold, and the grill was a little rough .Infinity pools always seam warmer. So we spent a lot of time on the beach. We had a great time regardless.
